Sedna - An Immersive Journey to the Inuit Goddess of the Sea
Myth · Cosmos · Story · Creativity · Sound
Date/Time: 6.30pm to 9pm, Friday 27 March 2026 – The Hive, Penzance
“Sedna” by Antony Galbraith
Beneath the frozen waters of the Arctic lives one of the most wild and powerful figures in Inuit mythology – Sedna, goddess of the sea and all its creatures. She is also one of the outermost known bodies in our solar system, and her astrological emergence feels timely and charged with meaning.
Sedna's themes are ancient yet still alive today: vulnerability, betrayal, survival, transformation, the transmutation of suffering, the power of the untamed, rebellious feminine, and the wisdom waiting beneath the surface of our own lives.
This evening workshop is an experiential introduction to Sedna and her world with your guides: Author, Artist and Polar Traveller Kari Herbert ,and Astrologer and Acoustic Alchemist Alison Dhuanna. Through myth and storytelling, we will explore her ancient story, how it has shaped the Inuit culture in Greenland and why it still resonates today; through mindful drawing, we will playfully and creatively imagine our inner Sedna; and through a potent gong bath, we will ‘meet’ the energy of this extraordinary Inuit goddess and explore the depths of our own resonance with her.
Together we will:
· Co-create a beautiful altar to Sedna
· Listen to the myth of Sedna (called by different names across the Arctic) and how she is embedded into the culture and belief system of the Inuit
· Hear what effects and resonance the recently named dwarf planet has in our current astrological chart
· Playfully and mindfully create an abstract creative depiction of our inner Sedna
· Relax and be transported by a potent, beautiful sound bath to respectfully meet the energy of Sedna
· Honour and close our connection with Sedna
This richly-layered small-group workshop is for those who would love to learn more about this potent Inuit goddess, as well as connecting with their creativity and enjoy a transporting experience through sound and imagination.
You’ll leave with:
· A deeper understanding of the myth of Sedna and how relevant she is in a modern context
· A feeling of being creatively nourished
· Insights into how your wild, inner feminine is showing up for you
· A blissed-out, deeply relaxed feeling from a healing sound bath

Past participants have said of Kari’s workshops:
"It was such a beautiful safe and nurturing space, something i have needed for a while...I will be taking lots of things with me, I think most of all the peaceful feeling I felt afterwards... Kari just knows how to pick up on what people need and time was given to express without being rushed and held in a safe space. Everything seems to have changed for me since somehow. I feel some calmness and peace that I have not felt in quite a long time." Cindy
"I absolutely loved the workshop .... I found Saturday’s gathering of great comfort and safety, surrounded by love. I’m so grateful I came to the workshop and met you all. What a wonderful group of people. Thank you so much for providing such a special moment." Daniela
"It was a brilliant idea to bring all of those elements together in such a gorgeous, nurturing and nourishing way. I think people really felt nourished and safe to go deep and really make changes and really explore what visioning really is – wow! You held the space and created the space really well and built a beautiful community. I really felt there was a quality of ceremony in it as well. It was so deeply rooted in love as a space and felt really connected. I think it was all wonderful.” Pippa
